A 3/4 ton pickup truck will carry 3/4 ton. The actual weight of the truck would depend on the make and model and is much more than 3/4 ton.

3/4 Ton is the "Rated Cargo Capacity" of the truck.

Basically it implies that the truck can safely carry 1500Lbs of cargo in the back.

Good luck finding a truck that only weighs 1500 Lbs.

Newer trucks use the older rating system (1/2 ton 3/4 ton etc) but some can actually carry more than their rating.

The best way to find out is to do some research into the makes and models available.

as someone else mentioned, the 3/4 ton is payload. Not vehicle weight.

Someone else said 2250 lbs. equals a ton.

A metric ton is 2204 lbs.

A short ton, which is the measurement used in America, is 2000 lbs.

Go out and look at the truck you want and read the weight off the sticker on the driver's door. It will give the GVW in pounds and kilos, and the distribution of that weight to the front and rear axles.

1/2 ton would be fine. I know you don't want to trailer the bike, but it is Sooooo much easier than loading and unloading a big bike in a pickup truck. My bike weighs 525 and I did the truck thing for a year and then bought an inexpensive 5x8 foot trailer, installed a wheel chock for my bike and it was the best thing I ever done. I would give it some more thought about the trailer.

Are you serious?! 3/4 ton is the supposed load capacity of the truck. The actual weight of the vehicle is around 4300 lb. depending on the make and model.

You will have to purchase from the Tonka truck company if you want a truck that weighs less than 2500 pounds I think.

You do know that 3/4 ton refers to payload weight and not the weight of the vehicle, don't you?
