Who out there will be spending the holidays alone and what plans do you have. I am working myself (job never seems to quit) and this will be the first holiday alone in almost 20 years. I got some ideas on what I am going to do, what about you??

This will be the first without my kids. Usually we decorate for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving but we are repainting and redecorating the house. My present to my husband is he is going to Fla for his fathers birthday, we have four large dog (dane, rottie, hound, whippett) and cannot travel together so I am painting the living room and making an afternoon meal for Thanksgiving for my son and his fiance (shame cause I love to cook). Our work here does not seem to end either. I am a legal specialist, my husband a technician, we have a business on the side and we are taking care of our daughters rental house. YIKES. Hey life can't hit ya if you don't sit still. Hope you have a nice holiday...wanna stop by and paint? The holidays are hard, I am still dealing with a lot of my family being gone. You need to find a friend and at least go to a movie. Don't sit home and be icky, yep icky, technical term for adjusting. Get your fanny down to Home Depot and find some cool projects to work on or,,,,oh my,,,,not a dude thing,,,buy a couple Christmas decorations to start a new tradition....little by little. Good luck to you. Change is hard and I for one am not good at it. And guess what, don't spend so much time at the job, try and picture how many of those co-workers are going to be at your funeral when you are gone...exclude the ones that just want the paid time off. Your friend spending the Holiday alone. Alda

Well, I won't be spending this holiday alone, but I have before. I enjoy going to the movies. All the good ones come out on the holiday weekends anyway.

No I am not going to be alone this year.It can be a devatasting thing the 1st time you realize that you are actully going to be alone. The good news is that as we grow in the world there is less and less importance being placed on family. Now more than ever it is also acceptable to donate your time to charity ( help cook etc) or spend time with friends. I opt for the new one SHOPPING. Have a wonderful thanksgiving!

I won't be alone unless I chose to be, but the holidays are really depressing me because you are supposed to be happy and grateful and I'm not. I'll be glad when the holidays are over. If I could skip them I would.
