What time will it be happening?Why does one person here say Friday night?

Yes. The best time will be after midnight Friday night. You might have to head inland, possibly as far as the desert, or at least Mount Laguna, to get away from the low clouds. If it is clear, in town should be OK, if you aren't right downtown.

"During the early morning hours of Nov. 18, the annual Leonid meteor shower will occur. Astronomers predict that it might be the best shower in intensity to occur in the last couple of years. Shooting stars should be visible from 10 p.m. Nov. 17 to dawn on Nov. 18, as long as skies are free of clouds and not obscured by light originating from the ground."

Yep, but you'll probably have to get out of the dowtown area to see much of it because of all the light polution. The glow in the sky will keep you from seeing anything but the the largest trails. You'll need to go east maybe around Alpine or so. Look to the northeast after 2 am or so until dawn. It peaks Tuesday morning but has already started
