I'd assume by 4 months soap is fine. After initally getting mine done I stopped doing anything special and never had a problem for the like 8 years I had it.

This stuff is awesome and cheap-

Softsoap; clear, andtibacterial and nonscented handsoap

It's gentle and gets the job done. But getting this specifically is the key. Some people heal within 4 mos (the typical is 6) but don't be surprised if your still picking out little (eww, i know) crusties after a year or so.

Use salt water, and an anti-bacterial soap. Don't use alcohol because it won't heal. Also if is infected try to clean it 3-5 times daily, and when you take a shower move the ring alittle up and down.

Ivory is fine, but I still use Dial, and I've had mine for almost 6 years, it has never been infected.

possibly your physique only can no longer take care of a piercing there. My sister has had diverse piercing and not had any issues yet after attempting a floor piercing in her component, the two cases she tried to pierce the floor there her physique rejected the piercings.

once its completely healed you can use anything to clean it. If its still not healed though use mild antibacterial soap and then follow up with some neosporin

As long as it's not bleeding and crusty...Ivory soap should be okay.

I would recommend an anti bacterial soap and warm water. Or peroxide and a q-tip. Or warm salt water.
