shortly after when i put the car into gear i kept hearing a grinding noise and the car would move slightly. After a while the car woulndt move at all? Could this be a CV joint? Or tranny failure?

Check for clutch or Trany problems first. Another cause could be broken motor mount on one side. Have friend rev engine, if one side comes up a mount has broken.

Broken motor mountr allows the engine to rise up on one side. This because of toqure.

sounds like you burnt out yor clutch to many racing starts.pulling hard to one side is called torquesteer hope this is a help
