Such as in this world today, people are more prone to do things that they normally wouldn't do unless proposed with money. Though those same people most likely wouldn't do these things for loved ones. I'm I wrong here...?

It depends on the person.
Some choose love because it makes them happy.
Some choose money for the power and possessions it brings.
We as humans can choose anything we wish to inspire us and drive us into action. It depends on what you believe the meaning of life is and what you feel brings value to your life.
