My sister went in for a regular pap smear the other day and was given a prescription for bacterial vaginosis. She has begun taking the medicine but it is making her sick. The medicine she was given is called Flagyl. Is there any other medicine out there that she can take to cure this infection? Something that she doesn't have to take orally and that won't make her so sick would help.

She is on the exact medication she should be on. It does cause nausea, but don't stop the medication. They usually give this medication at the most in three or four pills. Please urge her to tell her partner because men pass this on the women, and vice versa. Men usually don't have symptoms from it. My husband kept giving me this and he had to take Flagyl too. When we divorced, I never got another infection. I had what was called Trichomonas. Stay on the meds. I can't stress that enough. If she doesn't, she will not be cured from this infection.

Yes they have a cream you have to use for a few days before bed and if she will call md and ask and explain about flagyl making her sick. Also make sure she is aware that flagyl will make you sick with alcohol it is related to anabuse but I'm not saying that is why she is sick just fyi in case.
Call doctors office and he will prob. call it in for you.

I dont realize so much approximately vaginosis. But I might NOT positioned the peroxide for your vagina. It'd used to bleach hair!! I say wait, cross to the medical professionals or the stroll-in(i dont realize if you happen to reside within the US, purpose in Canada you cross to the stroll-in) Yes. Don't positioned that during there even though! Good good fortune!!
