Hi, I got offered Steve Smith for Tiki Barber. Currently my fantasy football 2006 roster is:

Drew Bress - QB
Rex Grossman -QB
Jay Cutler-QB
Darrell Jackson - WR
Plaxico Burress -WR
Chris Henry - WR
Patrick Crayton - WR
Bernard Berrian - WR
Tiki Barber - RB
Frank Gore - RB
Tatum Bell - RB
Anthony Thomas - RB
Owen Daniels - TE
Matt Stover - K
Denver Defense - DEF

This is a keeper league, so I can keep any 2 players on my team. I would think maybe keep Steve Smith if I traded especially since Tiki Barber is retiring.
Also does anyone have an idea if I should keep Jay Cutler for 2007 or not?

Thanks all in advance...The deadline is12:00am eastern tonight so I appreciate the speedy responses!!!

In a normal league I would say no, but in a keeper league I would definately trade. Over the next couple of years Steve Smith will always be in the top five recievers in the NFC. The problem is you dont really have a RB to replace Barber. Is this season a loss and you are rebuilding for next year? If so do the trade. If you are in a hunt for 1st place I would say not to make the trade. For the keepers next year, I would say keep Steve Smith (if you get him) and Frank Gore. If you dont get Smith, keep Gore and Drew Brees.

If you want to win this year still you will need to keep barber since your other rbs have some injury/playing time questions. If you are looking at next year it would be good to get smith and keep him with gore. If you start 2 qbs you might want to consider brees a keeper. Cutler is not worthy of being a keeper in what would be just his first year of starting.

I say absol-F'ing-lutely! Tiki is a really good back, but he is not scoring TD's. Steve Smith is arguably the best offensive player in football, at least in the top five I think. Yards and TD's from him. And a keeper. like you said, Tiki is retiring after this year. You can pick up another back in maybe a Wali Lundy, Travis Henry, Brandon Jacobs, Marion Barber, or Ladell Betts. Good luck.

i1d do it, but then u need a rb so maybe u could trade plazico for a rb, steve smith would be your keeper with gore, with only 2 keepers no way u can keep cutler unless he takes them to the superbowl.

Looks to me like you need Barber more than you'll need Smith. Especially if you play 3 RBs or 2 RBs & a Flex.

I wouldn't do it.
You don't need a WR plus, you don't have anyone to replace Tiki.
You should keep Gore and Jackson or Brees.
