No, I don't think toys & things like that should be in school. My son has a cell phone, & I have told the teachers that he has it & if he plays withit, to take it away, & give it back at the end of the day. It isn't a toy, & I am not going to call him while he is in school.

Ipods should be allowed in school but only if you use them during lunch. The rule at my school is that we are only allowed to listen to Ipods in the cafeteria during lunch

Having ipods isnt going to distract anyone else, just the person listening. They should be allowed to listen, but only if they are done with their work. They shouldnt get taken up. Mabey a punishment for not putting it up when told to is in line.

I think they should be allowed, just not be allowed during their work, because it distracts some students. However, if they see one out, I don't think they should be allowed to take it away, same with cell phones. They should be allowed, just have limits. Also, they are your responsibility and they need to get that across in case of any thefts.

depends on the grade. i know from personal experience that my middle school students are not mature enought to comprehend that when class is in session, i should not see thier ipod or chocolate or whatever the gadget of the week is. plus we're always having stuff stolen in our school. why create more temptation?

No, not in class. But having them between, after, and before school I think is just fine. I mean, it's their music, so what's the problem? I know people in my school who have gotten detention just for listening to theirs after school. It's stupid IMO.
