They have found a new toy and are afraid if they don't use it they'll lose it. A lot of times they think it makes them more mature and like to brag of their conquests (both males and females). Sad part is that a lot of them will get themselves reputations that will follow them later in live.

They say that hormone levels are highest when they are just developing. It's too bad that the pressures are placed on them so that they have to act on those feelings. Most do not handle the experience very well until they are older. It would be best if they waited at least until they are 18 or 19 and have a little maturity behind their emotions.

Because that is the most crucial time in their lives where their bodies are changing. Their hormones are at an all-time high and they are curious to expolre what is new to them. It is a parent's job to discuss these chages with their teenager so this absolutely normal feeling will not get the teen into trouble :)

You must be a teenager. Teens are new at dealing with hormonal changes, and don't yet have the intelligence/experience to realize the ramifications that could be involved.

It's because of all the new hormones
AND...
Have you ever told a teen "No, don't do that"? What do they do? Right, they run off and do it anyways. Well, the problem is that parents just say "No" instead of explaining the situation and then the teens are left wondering "Why?" and who do you think they go to with the tough questions...You got it...Other teen horn-dogs that are curious too.

I don't know maybe they think that they are all grown up..... well some are not and maybe the movies with the sex scenes have something to do with it to. They want to to that they see other people do.

It is mostly hormones, but also it is a way to establish themselves as mature and to be rebellious against their parents who are constantly telling them to save themselves.
