In July my friend dared me to take a pregency test in Walgreens... I never did anything daring in my life so i said hell with it why not. I took it to the bath room and took it... but then I got caught and they were like I was stealing. For being 19 I was really stupid. I told them I could pay for it and explained my mom shopped there alot and that I was really sorry and what not... After like 20 minutes they told me my friend and I could pay for it and they wouldn't call the police, the only thing was that I couldn't go to Walgreens anymore. So i payed for it... I never went back to Walgreens and I never got arrested or anything... A few weeks later I got this letter saying I was being sued for retail theif and that it was a felony. They said the only way I could get away with it is it i paid a free of $300... my mom talk to the Walgreens manager and they said they never pressed charges... That if they pressed charges I would've been arrested, but I wasn't. Not to worry about anything

Was there a letter from the county court house, or city of state?

One of your supposed friends pulled a fast one on you, be more careful next time dares are for suckers.

If charges have never been filed against you, than you would have no criminal record. However, even if the store did not press charges they can still sue you in civil court for damages. This is not the same as being taken to criminal court. If you received a letter stating that you are being sued, you should contact the attorney that sent the letter to find out if they have filed the paper work and you have a court date.

It is a scam most likely. If Walgreen's says your good, no worries.
