Rooney is a vicious thug who stamped on a man's groin and gets involved in brawls. He is a liability who risks his team being reduced to 10 men.
Before the World Cup, all we heard on the news was "Rooney's foot". Ironically, it was his foot which got him sent off in our final match.
After Beckham was sent off in the 1998 World Cup, he was booed at every ground he played at. Why isn't Rooney given the same treatment?
Anyway, is Rooney that good a player? He has never achieved much at European or world level.
Steven Gerrard is a much better "ambassador" - and should be England captain in my opinion.

Just leave Wayne alone, Yes he is volatile I agree, but that does not make him BAD, it just means he care`s about what`s going on, BUT, since when did being a Footballer mean you were a ambassador for any country, I thought he was on the Football Field playing Football and Scoring GOAL`S, which if I`m not mistaken he DID. To musa & cold runner WAYNE ROONEY is a 21 year old AWESOME FOOTBALLER who play`s an AWESOME game of FOOTBALL.

Its not his job to be an "ambassador" for anything...his job is to score goals and he needs a little volatility in his game to be able to do that.
If you mean he is too yobbish for your tastes, then maybe you have a point...but remember he is still very young and will become more assured as he gets older.

.You have the answer in your own question.
And another thing, I watched him shake hands with some of the Holland team after the game. His insincerity was unbelievable; he never even had the decency to make eye contact with them.
Now how ignorant is that?
Personally I cannot see him far enough.. just my opinion!
Yes alright.... I'm ducking the rotten eggs.
