my baby boy ashton has recently been in contact with someone who has suspected laryngitus and has definatly got something wrong with him because when he cries his cry sounds very coarse and faint like a croaky sound it is definatly sounding different to how he normally sounds but he had his second lot of jabs yesterday so it could be this but it is worrying me and i have got till tommorrow morning till i can see the doctor.

Call the NHS helpline if you are worried, they will tell you whether you need to take your son to the hospital or whether it's not something you need to worry about.

laryngitis is not contagious. Its a symptom of something such as a cold or infection in the throat but laryngitis itself is NOT contagious. He proably has a cold. At his age you might want to bring him to the doctor for sure, make sure they check for RSV its really nasty and is seen in kids that small, also could be the croup possibly too. Good luck

yes, if it gets bad, go to the hospital tonight. it takes alot for a baby to get sick due to high immunities when they are born. breast feeding is also a very good deterent to infant illnessess.

It's possible.... It's usually a minor thing - only a big deal if they have breathing issues... Usually, if they're under 2 years old, if they get sick, it's REALLY sick.
