Does anyone have any helpful hints with this ipod thing? I am confused but I would like to buy my boyfriend one for Christmas. Is it like a mini radio? Or do you need head phones? Is it difficult to download music? And most of all is the music free to download?

iTunes music isnt free, but you can download Limewire and get free songs from there, however its illegal soo....! When you buy the ipod it will come with ear buds, so you wont have to buy any in less he wants different ones. Depending on the version you buy, you can watch music videos, listen to music, look at pictures, see what time it is, play games, ect.

PS- Download some of his favorite songs before you give it to him, he'll love it! :-)

You cannot download music free from iTunes or it doesn't have a FM Tuner. You should look into the latest media device in the Music Players Industry, The Microsoft Zune. It's new and you can wirelessly share music with other Zune users and it also has a FM Tuner. It's a iPod competitor but it's really taking it for a ride so go and research the Zune more and see what will fit your boyfriend's taste.

1) iPod doesn't have a radio in it. There are other mp3 players that do, however, so if you want a radio you might want to skip the iPod.
2) You need headphones. It's like a walkman. It doesn't have speakers.
3) It's not difficult to download music. It comes with iTunes software that you can install on your PC or Mac. You can download music from their store (.99), you can burn your cd's onto your iPod, and you can bring in music from other sites.
4) If you get him one, a great companion gift are some iTunes gift cards so he can download some music.
