The bitter roots of Hitlers rise to power were this
1.He suppressed freedom of the press, any one critical of the Nazi's, was brutally and quickly silenced, including any media of the day, Labor Unions and any religious or political groups
2. Coming out of WW1, Germany's economy was in bad shape, and her ability to govern or defend itself was determined by the Treaty of Versailles and the Allies regulation.
He Used a Military buildup (despite the treaty)to help the economy out of depression, He found a comon enemy to distract Germans from his own twisted policy's, blaming the Allies and the Jews for Germany's problems. Invigorating National pride with propoganda and fear mongering, (Your either with Germany or against Germany type of deal) made Hitler a national hero. Once started and with little or no opposition this monster fed on itself.

Same way Bush led everyone to believe Iraq was about to nuke them. How he still makes some people believe they're doing the right thing over there. He's such an upstanding christian (alcoholic drug addicted nonetheless), people just believe he's doing the right thing by god, and that people who fight BACK are evil.

Same way he led people to believe that buying prescriptions from Canada was going to kill them because we're so inferior. Like a 3rd world country giving our citizens any old pill and we're all just taking our chances every one of them we take.

At least Hitler was a smart man, genious in fact. Not that I support what he did in the least, he was a tyrant. But, Bush is a really dumb tyrant.

It was a Nationalist movement driven by fear and poverty. Hitler offered a solution to the German people by standing up to the communists, who most people were afraid of, he turned them on Jews with bad propaganda, and he rebuilt the military in defiance of the Treaty of Versailles, he also brought Germany back from the Depression faster than any other country. This made him a great hero in the eyes of Germans people. Nobody realised how crazy he was until he invaded Poland.

The country was devistated after WWI and the Treaty of Versailles. He was fighting communism. He had his fights with the right wing, too. And the people were about all of their ruins being bought up and their misery being profited from. I think it was something like- Every action causes an equal counter reaction.

"The size of the lie is a definite factor in causing it to be believed, for the vast masses of the nation are in the depths of their hearts more easily deceived than they are consciously and intentionally bad. The primitive simplicity of their minds renders them a more easy prey to a big lie than a small one, for they themselves often tell little lies but would be ashamed to tell a big one."
Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf

It is the absolute right of the State to supervise the formation of public opinion."
Joseph Goebbels, Nazi propaganda minister

Why of course the people don't want war. But it is the leaders who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.
Joseph Goebbels, Nazi propaganda minister

Does that answer your question, kind of like todays Republicans really.

Several reasons:
1) Hitler was a charismatic speaker.
2) People are always ready to blame anyone but themselves.
3) Germans were predisposed to blame Jews after centuries of anti Semitism.
