King Arthur never really had any magical powers but his famous sword did. King Arthur was also supposedly to be protected by the magical people and the magical land of Avalon Also Merlin was a sorcerer and Morgan was a witch and Excalibur was suppose to have been made by the magical people of Avalon and the magical sword given to the lady of the lake for safe keeping.................

King Aurther had no magical powers, Morgan le Faye his half-sister was a witch. Witches gain their power through the worship of Entities. I belive Mog a very ancient druidial god of earth was her deity. Excalibur had no magical power. It was forged in ancient times and as such had powers embued to it by the primal earth. It couldn't break and always stayed sharp, etc. The Scabbard though had the magical power of stopping blood lose. While the scabbard was worn, the wearer did not loose blood and therefore retained their strength in battle.

Avalon isn't a real position and lower than the Arthurian cycle, King Arthur does not have magical powers. Early writings do not characteristic powers to his sword and scabard both. Excalibar and its scabbard take position a lot later even as the French bards get ahold of the legend.

Why not read Le Morte D'Artur? You should be able to find it at a local library. If not there, then a book store.
