It depends are they all ways late an are you a union company but most of the time good companys pay on time if this happens go to your states labor borad an file a complait with them

It really depends. I've had that problem in the past and what I did was go to my human resourse department and told them that I absolutly needed to be paid within the next couple days or I was gonna miss a student loan payment and it would effect my credit.
Most of the time they can get you paid rather fast. However if you feel that they are not paying much attention to you or tell you that you can't get the pay till your next week's paycheck then you can take some steps. The question is do you really want to take those steps? For the most part my suggestion is to just let it go if it has only happened only once. If it becomes a chronic problem then you need to start talking to people like the VP of human resources and get this thing worked out.
