Can you open my folders?

if you can you can make a startup disk by going to My computer

double click on control panel and then double click on add/remove programs.

You will see a tab that says "Startup disk" click in, insert a blank floppy and click Create Disk.

then reboot your computer with the floppy in the drive and windows will automatically recognise it and give you onscreen instructions

well first ask "where did it go?"
chances are your windows 95 is stuffed- you can download a set of discs on a torrent client.illegally!

you may want to try downloading pc linux, knopix, DSL, or maybe puppy linux boot cd.
this is a live linux. it looks a bit like windows and will run directly from your cd drive. just boot up and use it to copy all your files and documents to disc. this will save you from loosing your files.

if i were you, i would get pc linux or puppy linux because you can then install that to hard disc instead of win95. It is really easy to do, there are many more distributions that would work but if you have never used linux before puppy and PCLinux are easiest.

you will find that booting from the cd is very easy, and if you decide to install to hard disc, your old pc will seem like you upgraded a couple of processors.
I still use some old pentium 1 and 486 towers with linux, and they work faster than my 2.8 pentium4 laptop!

search for them in yahoo, you will not find it hard to find.

Boot with the startup disk, then use System File Checker (replacesmissing or corrupted system files). Click > START, > RUN, enter SFC . Use your Windows CD or browse to CAB files on your hard drive \windows\options\cabs.
