I work for an IFA and really, really do love it, I'm my own boss much of the time and schedule my own workload. It's not good pay but they treat me like a family member cos it's a small concern. I tried working at shops and factories, chippys, cleaning, you name it I tried it. I went to colledge at 42 and gained NVQ 1 and 2 in business admin and ECDL 1 and advanced in computing and it was worth it. It depends if you want to make big money or be happy in your working environment I think.

I am a young 46 and love my job. I am self employed in the health and wellness industry marketing a product that is very much in demand. I started doing this while working at a regular job and built up residual income. The good news is, I don't have to worry about retirement because the business has taken on a new life of it's own. I love working from home, but I also love face to face marketing. I just tell people my story and the product sells itself. Life is good!

I so admire you for wanting to retrain. I am 27 and I never like any job I am in and there are too many things stopping me from retraining, one being that, whenever I will go back to my country, I might be a bit too old to start retraining. Anyway, it's a different story.
So, even though I am not answering your question, Best of luck and I hope you find your dream job!
P.S. I always wanted to do classical ballet, so maybe try that one...

I think the best choice would be to do something you already enjoy. What are your intrests and strengths? Also I honestly do not think anyone just LOVES their jobs, at least not all the time. We all have to work, that is a part of life, but if you constantly spend all your time looking for the "perfect" job you are setting yourself up for a lot of disappointment. I do hope you find something more enjoyable as you seem pretty burnt out.

I work as a bookie for William Hills and I love it.I love the regulars the staff and the challenge of getting it right. If you like sports then you would love it as the job centres around the world of sport, you are also expected to mix and mingle and chat about whatever sport the punter is into or just about life in general. If you Fancie pressing buttons for a living and chatting to friends then give it a try. They also "fasttrack" people to management positions if they are keen, and at the moment are in need of good manege rs.

Become a Carer? I am a Palliative Nurse and also deal with Alzheimer patients but specialise in Autism in children.
Nursing and the care industry is crying out for people.
The best part of my job is holding someones hand as they die so they are not alone or afraid, and hearing an Autistic child say my name for the first time! (that took him 14 months and now there is no stopping him) ;)

I think you need to go away and think about what you want out of life a little bit more.
I'm sure there are many Toilet cleaners who love the job they do, so are you going to train for that?
Your future lies in what YOU love to do, your a diffrent person to everyone else so just copying the best idea on here is crazy.
