i forgot the name of a movie, its based in the future and how your job is determined by your dna(i think), but this guy wants to an astronaut so he tricks the system to get into space. I think it came out around 98-00

Gattaca, with Ethan Hawke and Una Thurman. It;s a science fiction film, but the dialogue and characterization make it feel more like a Masterpiece Theatre --- that's a recommendation
