HA! I think the reason is because they are shrinking. And instead of shortening their pants...they are just hiking them up higher, and higher, and higher!!!! Did you notice that their ears gets bigger with age also? And hairier?

LOL, I saw him on telly the other day and wondered myself how much higher they are going to get. One of these days The Sky at Night is going to be presented by a talking pair of trousers with a little tuft of hair poking out the top!
The thing is, the trousers aren't actually any longer, so the bottoms come up to the knees when they're sat down!

I am in my 40's, and years of drinking too much and walking around half dressed as a teenager has made my bones susceptible to the damp. so in winter I do not wear hipster trousers now, because on cold damp days my back hurts a tiny little bit.
Now if I feel a pang of arythius at my age due to a few days of madness, just think how high the trousers will be on the idiots who go around with nothing on their exposed spine now....they will be crippled by their thirties on damp days.
also when your bum is no longer bony, there is little room for the family jewels, so for comfort you choose baggy trousers.
tight trousers a re like a cheap hotel, no ball room.

The trousers stay the same size. It's just the older you get, the more you shrink down into 'em..

I think it's the older you get your belly stick out more so it's either above the belly to hide it or below the belly for that *** crack look.

apparently the older you get your **** shrinks your belly grows you either go for the builders bum look or the Simon cow look.

i think its cos their tummies get bigger and to place the trousers above it, it has to go higher
