i'm thinking about getting a watch on ebay, but i don't know much about watches......
basically, i'd like something not too bulky, nice-looking, with an analog clock.
any ideas?

thanks!

I love Fossil watches, and they are moderately priced...not super expensive but not cheap-looking. I got my husband a nice one for Christmas a couple years ago.

That's a pretty general question for a couple of reasons. First, not sure of the quality and price you're thinking of. Second, men's watch fashions sometimes has some bearing on what you're getting, especially if you're in a business setting.

Assuming you're NOT looking for a plastic digital multifunction watch (like a runner might wear), but a decent watch that you'd feel comfortable wearing in a business setting:

Kenneth Cole - inexpensive, selection from very fashion forward to more classic, timeless

Raymond Weil - relatively costly, selection from very thin Parsifal models to more substantial heft. Good selection in a variety of price ranges. Swiss made.

Tag Heuer - the classic metal bracelet chronograph. Fairly pricey. Swiss made.

Seiko / Citizen - way less expensive than Swiss watches - decent workmanlike quality, vast selection of shapes, functions, bracelet types.

Movado - very fashion-conscious shapes and styles. Moderately expensive.

ESQ - owned by Movado, their less expensive line, less dressy line, good variety of styles.

Generally, consider what you will wear the watch with - a black leather or brown leather watch band may not work with all your suits. A gold or stainless bracelet can work in most business settings, a very thin watch with black leather is still the de facto in very dressy situations.

There are, of course, far more expensive watches like Rolex, Cartier and a multitude of Swiss boutique brands, but since you mention eBay I didn't think you were going that route. I wouldn't suggest buying a very expensive marquee brand from eBay as then you run into the issues of cheap counterfeits, etc.

Best to you.

It really depends what price range you're looking for, but some suggestions are: Movado, Fossil, Bulova, Seiko, Citizen, ESQ.
I hope this helps!

Marc Ecko is a good brand. Not that expensive either.
