Firstly, clean the fridge!

If you have some charcoal left over from your barbeque, crunch them up into small pieces, place them on a dish and pop it in the fridge. Charcoal absorbs odours.

At the same time, get a half lemon, scoop out the fleshy bit and put that to one side for now. Add generous amounts of salt to the hollowed lemon, and replace the fleshy bit over the top. Put in the fridge. The salt should make the lemon expel its fragrance more effectively.

also, if there are drawers contained in the bottom of the refrigerator, verify less than them too. if there is any status water or spilled nutrients, which will be causing the project too. I propose getting some magic erasers and cleansing the walls and cabinets and really commencing over. position baking soda bins in there and the scent will bypass away quickly adequate. i does not propose procuring some thing else to bypass in there till day after today even as the temperature is back to regularly occurring. replaced into it because the refrigerator did not close each and each and every of how because of an obstruction? sparkling out the door cabinets too and make constructive all doors and drawers close properly to ward off this from taking position back.

Clean it. Wash (not wipe out) the vegetable crisper, the meat and cheese drawer, whatever. Under them as well. Also clean the door seals, be sure to dry them completely as you dont want them to mold.
When it is clean, all questionable substances removed (ie leftovers turned science experiment) put the box of baking soda in there and change it out every month or so. It really does help, especially with strong odors (onion, etc).

Having read other advice I would say don't use lemon or vanilla in your fridge unless you want your food to smell and taste of them! Make sure you keep the fridge clean and tightly wrap smelly foods like fish or cheese etc or put them in sealed containers.

Cut a lemon in half and place it in the fridge. The lemon will draw all the odours into it and also make your fridge smell nicer
