Depending on what percentage they are of of American Indian, I believe they get government grants.

Urban legend. Native Americans can apply for government grants, financial aid, scholarships, etc. (and special programs just for Native Americans, too.) But they aren't entitlement programs. They have to qualify just like everyone else.
This myth started in the mid '60s-early '70s, when there was a movement by some Native American leaders and legislators from several states to enact bills that would set aside gov't money to pay for Native Americans to attend college. But the legislation never passed.

I am just American and I got this thing called The Pell Grant, it covered the biggest part of my college.

If you are of American Indian decent, there are scholarship programs available. You do need to be able to prove this information on various forms, which can be rather tedious, but it is there.

Native Americans often get assistance with tuition or vocational training; as a rule, they must be tribal members to receive this help.

if they have proof of their heritage
I lived in a town in central Oregon where the population is mostly native Americans and they would give them money and a car just to get them to graduate high school
Every year they had a ceremony to award them with cash and a new car

yes they do and the main reason they do is because of the injustice of the trail of tears its so their is a payback for the removal of the indians

there are so many untapped scholarship programs all across US for anyone.. Just that they are not openly advertised.. If you are adventurous and resourcefull enough, you can get 100% of all your tuition paid for.. You just need to look.

Because the race thing is so stupid...
