What is infectious mononucleosis?

Infectious mononucleosis (commonly called "mono") is a viral illness usually caused by the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). Mono most commonly develops in young adults between the ages of 15 and 24. 1 The virus can be spread through contact with saliva, mucus (from the nose and throat), and sometimes tears. Rarely, EBV is spread through blood transfusions. Because the virus can be spread through saliva, mono is sometimes called the kissing disease.

Once you have been infected with EBV, your body may periodically shed (or give off) the virus throughout your lifetime, possibly spreading the virus to others. 2 This can occur despite the fact that you do not have symptoms after your initial mono infection; the virus may still be found in your saliva many months after you have recovered from your symptoms. Some newly infected people may not have any symptoms of mono and may not be aware they are spreading the virus that causes mono.

So, if you had Mono as a kid, you will always have it in your blood. I highly doubt this would be responsible for constant fatigue though. Be sure to check out all avenues (Nutrition, Hormones, Anemia, etc) in your search for the culprit.

You are wasting your blood and your money. 'Mono' is Ebstein Barr Virus. Nearly all young adults test positive for EB virus - and once you test postive - you always will. Constant fatigue is another problem all together. It was amply demonstrated 20 years ago that EB virus was not a factor in chronic fatigue. The most common cause of chronic fatigue is rest deprivation. If you have had blood work done your thyroid function has likely been checked.

A health practitioner could must scan you for HIV to inform in case you have it or now not. By doing different blood paintings they would not recognize in case you have the virus or now not. If you're so extraordinarily involved please ask that you just be confirmed for HIV and finish your fear.
