what is your job and how many hours a week normally do you work?
My husband and I are on disability pension right now giving us less than $1200/month for rent, bills, groceries and diapers are still included in that as our son has only just turned 2.
My sister started a new job at a store that sells dinnerware and crystal, she has worked over 2 weeks straight now as well as going to school every friday, part time college, except for fridays she works 13 hour days most of the time, getting $8/h, just over minimum wage. She is a sales rep now but started there originally working in the back receiving and unpacking shipments.

I too am a stay-at-home mom, by choice, and don't get paid nearly enough for the number of jobs I do. I cook, clean, do laundry, pay bills, shop for groceries, home repairs, answer the phone, teach my son who just turned 2 a few weeks ago, feed our 2 cats, wash dishes still by hand, and a number of other things. Can you imagine the job qualifications I have and the pay and time that would require if that was all done in the outside work world instead of in the home? So many people still think that stay-at-home parents, men or women, sit around and watch tv pretty much all day then complain how hard their day has been. I rarely have time to sit and watch tv until later at night. From the time my son wakes up in the morning to 8pm when I finish reading his bedtime story I am on the go, even when he has his afternoon nap, I catch up on emails, read my snail mail if it came yet, do dishes and pick up from the morning. I usually make my phone calls about then as well.
