Does anyone own one? Are they good pets? I saw an add locally for them and the price was $50.00. They are adorable

They are cute and can make wonderful pets for the right people (and awful pets for the wrong people). I would be wary of purchasing one from an ad though- sometimes dishonest people try to sell crossbreeds (as in, half potbellied pig and half 600 lb farm pig) or pigs who haven't had proper veterinary care.

If you're interested in miniature pet pigs I would suggest doing research and getting in touch with individuals or organizations (such as breeders and sanctuaries) who have experience with potbellies. You will also need to check with your town or county to ensure that local zoning laws allow potbellied pigs to be kept as pets.

Wow...I actually just started researching them this weekend. Sounds like a great pet. I wish I could find a local breeder (in or near San Diego). I also read to get them young as they are like children and feel that they are part of the family. I would love to own one!

They are good pets if you get them at a young age. They can be trained to use a litter box.

I got one his name is Belly. They are very bright and cute. Mine can do all the tricks dogs can do. In the morning it puts his snout under my blanket to wake me. Buy one you`ll never be sorry.
