I've always heard it as "You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar," but I suppose it works out the same.

Just a little proverb that serves as a reminder of the virtues of being sweet when you want something.

On a side note, I've found that flypaper works even better.

It means that if you are kind and nice to a person you will recieve much more respect than being nasty and unappriciated towards a person. Lol...my 9th grade teacher used to say this phrase to us all the time.

you can get more positive reactions with kind words than you can with negative........... example okay kids I have already asked you this once .please get you coats on we ill be late for school instead of saying OKAY GET YOU COATS ON NOW WE HAVE TO LEAVE!
