First of all you need a place to live with a stove- refrigerator-a washer and dryer would be nice. A kitchen table and chairs. a bed-night stand and a dresser or chest. a sofa and a couple of chairs. a wall clock -an alarm clock. A lamp or two. Flashlights and batteries in case the power goes out. Oil lamps come in handy. A radio-t.v.-grocerys-all the basic stuff. towels for the bathroom and wash clothes. kitchen towels and dish cloths. a set of silverware- pots and pans-iron skillets are nice-.glasses-a set of dishes. a coffee pot. two or three sets of bed sheets and pillow cases-pillows.a couple of blankets a quilt or comforter. a broom and mop. a mop bucket. a dust pan. a first aid kit. Lots of love and consideration. A baby bed(lots of other stuff) or birth control. Have fun and the best of luck.

go to your local departments registry. even target or walmart will do. even ikea. take a look around. don't buy everything all at once. most time the main room to look after is the bedroom and the kitchen. at least those are my main concerns anyway. and go slow....take your time in choosing your items. even if the two of you have only 2 plates, 2 glasses and 2 forks to start off with....it's still the beginning. don't feel pressured to have the entire house decor'd in a few hours.

Go visit and Ikea store. www.ikea.com Cheap, functional, fabulous. If you're at a really big loss, before heading out to Rooms-To-Go, find a gay man and bring him over and I swear, he will take 2 hours and some trash from the side of the road and have your house gussied up like a palace on steroids.
Good luck sweetie.
