My best friend's little brother (he's 19, I'm 22) dated this girl for like, 3 months. He was totally in love with her (so he says,) despite her giving him a hard time about calling her all the time, and her being mad at him for going to visit her when she asked him not to (even though it was a tough weekend for her, the anniversary of a close relative's death).

It's obvious to me that she wanted to break up with him before and was waiting for him to do something so she could break up with him, but he doesn't see it, and is all like, "I hurt her, yadda yadda yadda." Ok maybe he shouldn't have gone, and maybe she felt smothered, but is that any reason for him to feel like the schmuck of the earth? NO! She should have been up front with him, and because she wasn't, he's hurting more than she ever did. What can I do as his friend to help him through this? He's not local. And I'm not doing anything preverted.

Be on standby. Listen. Talk only when you need to. He needs to talk to work through it.

Hey she isn't the only girl on the face of this earth. Tell your friend that there are other fish in the sea. I know there is one out there for him just be patient. She didn't deserve him she's probably got someone on the side already and just didn't have the heart (sounds like her) want to tell him.....in other words sounds like she was leading your friend on. Good Luck and remember three's a whole lot more girls out there.
