I used to.
My father was in the Hospital for eight months before he passed away, and every time the phone rang I did jump and my heart raced.
Since that last call, when they informed me that he had passed away, I don't jump anymore, before that I automatically assumed that the worst had happened every time the phone rang.
It's really weird how once you think about things you realize the impact they have in your life isn't it?
Good question.

Sometimes, especially if one of the three cells (yes I have 3 cell phones currently in use, it kinda sounds like I am running some shady business doesn't it?) ring in the middle of the night.

Yes I have to beat 2 four year olds to it. because are the self appointed gatekeepers who will give caller third degree before they will pass on call. Some people don't make the cut.

I don't, but my cat does. She also runs to the door when the door-bell rings.
