I think that you'll find that the USA doesn't have to protect Israel from anyone. If anything, it's the other way around. Israel has the latest combat technology and they have had nukes for 30+ years now. If Iran or any of those other so called nations (They're mainly a bunch of tribes) launches an attack on Israel with WMD's, Israel has the capability of turning them into a smokin' hole in the ground. Your theory is all wet.

There is one clear answer to this question and I think most of the people here already know it.
Uncle Sam went to Iraq to take control of the energy sources. Being a super power he wanted to do that just because he thinks someone else would interfere if they did not. If I am a super power I need super energy. And I must make sure my energy sources are there whenever I need. Otherwise I cannot live long. So if I believe that I need to attack Iran for the same purpose then I will attack Iran as well..

But, binky, we didn't attack Iraq to 'protect Israel'. That's absurd, and is not based on any reality.

So we're not going to attack Iran to protect Israel, either. There are plenty of reasons, beyond your anti-Israel delusions, for the US, the EU, the UN and many other countries to take steps to prevent Iran from attaining nuclear weaponry.

Iran has proclaimed that it wishes to destroy Israel. Nuclear weapons would give them the opportunity to do so, heaven forfend.

If Israel does indeed have a nuclear capability, it will use it only as a last resort, after a first strike by some other power.

Iran is the biggest threat to the West today, and their military capability must be curbed by the West.

I hope Iran is attacked but in a surgical way. Knock out the Nuclear components of the country and nothing else. Everytime they build it up, we tear it down. If they go underground, send bunker busters. We need more human intellegence in the middle east. I feel we should also bomb North Koreas nuclear facility. I think the US will be more cautious about building a coalition of the willing if we attack Iran or N. Korea. These oppressive regimes must be taught a lesson.

we are actually not likely to invade Iran. you may examine regardless of indicators you like. you may pass see what the poultry's entrails say and we nevertheless won't invade Iran. without a brilliant buildup of militia capability (on the floor), that's impossible to pull off that kind of element. including 20,000 troops to the a hundred thirty,000 in Iraq does not signify a brilliant strengthen. Neither does a service conflict team contained in the gulf. specific, it may blow up a gaggle of stuff, yet thats approximately it. Politically, the president does not have the clout mandatory to reserve such an attack. Congress might in no way pass alongside without a boatload of evidence that Iran became into straight away in contact in some sort of aggression against the U. S.. Even then, that they had probably argue approximately it for a year or greater. in case you think of Bush can tension it without congress, pass overview the conflict Powers Act. He can respond to coming near near threats without consent of Congress, yet basically for as much as ninety days. After that element, Congress has to approve any continuation....and all of us recognize they won't till a Dem president began it.

Truthfully, with the US having Afghanistan and Iraq as footholds in the ME, Israel loses it's strategic value. How does that "help Israel"? If the US attacks Iran, it will be for US reasons, same as the reasons it went after every other country it has ever gone after.

Who says we attacked Iraq to protect Israel? If i remember right, it was because Saddam has WMDs. Then it was to remove Saddam from power. Then it was to liberate Iraq. Then it was to bring democracy to the middle east. I don't think any of the changing reasons ever included Israel.

The U.S. attacked Iraq for three - and only three - reasons:
1) The Bush family had a personal vendetta against Hussein ever since the days of Desert Storm when George H.W. Bush was humiliated and criticized for not "finishing the job" and ousting Hussein at that time;
2) The giant U.S.military-industrial complex needs a new 'war' to help boost it sagging profits. Immediately following World War II, industry realized how profitable 'war' could be. So it bought up all the politicians, hired pricey lobbyists, and formed special interest groups to encourage and promote more 'war'. That got the U.S. into the Korean Conflict, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Cold War, Vietnam, and Desert Storm. It was time for more war profiteering, and Iraq was the most logical target;
3) Dick Cheney wants all that OIL swimming underneath Iraq's sands so that he and his Exxon buddies can get richer and richer and richer as they continue to feed America's OIL habit.

The U.S. went to 'war' with Iraq for OIL.

By spring, 2007, the U.S. will go to 'war' with Iran for that very same reason: rich fields of easily-accessible, conveniently-transportable OIL.

The blood of 655,000 Iraqis and 2,800 U.S. soldiers is on every one of us who think it's our 'right' to drive a $60,000 gas-guzzling SUV. -RKO-

Very possible. The US military is now positioned to the east and west of Iran in Iraq and Afghanistan.
