I have been fasting for 4 days now, when you are fasting off of meats and sugars, will this have an effect on your mentrual cycle. Mine has been really spotty and light is this normal.

I am fasting because of my minister has requested we do church fast. I want to do this because I want a deeper relationship with God.

I am eating fruits and vegetables, drinking water. I am not starving myself, just not eating meats such as beef and pork, no sugars like, candy, juices etc. I drink smoothies like bananas and strawberries, all vegatables, like stir fry and fresh veggies. I am not starving myself also my doctor is monitoring me...

Are you religiously fasting? Anyway, yes it does affect your period, which is one of the reasons why starving your self is
bad for you......

Yes, it does. From my own experience, I get a heavier flow when after eating a full meal consisting of rice, meat and vegetables. Sometimes when you're fasting and your body's low on energy you period may get delayed or have lighter flow. If it's really bothering you, then you may want to get back to your regular eating routine until the menses is over and then resume your fasting. Besides, it'll be a good way to detoxify your system that way. Hope this helps and all the best.

Your not fasting, your dieting. People fasting do it for religous
purposes or political resaons rebeling against great powers
that will not listen to them. They eat nothing for weeks, only
consuming water and uassally draw media attention for their
cause. Most are under doctor supervision !
