Ok, Here's the deal.

I moved in to the house she rents in June. I had left my apt of 10 years to move in with the girl. Of course, I brought my 2 cats with me and she paid for installing a cat door and a gate to separate the 4 dogs from the cats. The whole thing cost her $500.
Now the landlord of the house she rents wants us out.
We've been scrambling to find another house and we found it. The weird thing is that she did not mentionned the cats on the application and while looking for a roomate she, also, did not mentioned the cats...(?).
I got up this morning and she 's asking me if I would be ok giving my cats away...!
Her thinking being that it was easier for us to find a house and a roomate in such short notice because she did not add the cats and the dogs on the application.
!?!?!
The woman had been planning this whole thing since the beginning of the house hunting.(that's my feeling...)

Also, she is willing to pay for the whole move in ( $6400)

What should I do?

Does she call all the shots? Grow a spine and move to your own place. She's just using you for sex.

Pets can become part of the family, so I can understand it is difficult to give them away. When she told you to get rid of your cats, does this mean she is also getting rid of her dogs? I'm sure that would be difficult on her too. What you two need to do is sit down and think if it's really worth giving up the animals to live in that house or to simply find another place which you can afford. You should talk to each other and come up with the decision. I'm sure you will find a roomate who will like both cats and dogs. I know I do.

If she didn't mention the dogs, does that mean that she is giving them up as well?

Adopting/ Owning ANimals is a difficult thing I own 5 animals (3 cats & 2 Dog) IF you really love your animals your would never abandon them. If you must however please give them to a no-kill shelter where thay can at least stand a chance. Seems she's paying the bills so you have little worsd unless you want to find your own place you're kinda screwed

Is she getting rid of her dogs too? Perhaps it's not a big deal for her then, and she sincerely thought that it wouldn't be a big deal for you to give up the cats, too. There may not be any malicious "plotting" behind it. I suggest you explain to her that you want to keep the cats, and that you two should be looking for a place to accomodate them (easier to find than a place that accomodates dogs).

Obviously she has no intention of discussing any matters with you, you can either be a kept man and follow what ever she decides or you can be your own man and live on your own. The way you decide to live is up to you, but if you stay then getting rid of the cats will turn into the least of your decisions.

you had the cats before you started the relationship and before you moved in with her it shouldn't matter who is paying or that you had to move they are your cats and what about her dogs is she just giving them away too. Pets are like children you don't just give them up because things happen and if she just springs that on you the relationship is lacking some communication.

You have to became a man, boy.
Find the job, so you finally can pay for your cats and her dogs...and really, get real, you have to have your own house if you like to have so many animals.

If she loves you and wants this she must understand how important you cats are to you. She has dogs so she will know how hard it is to part with your cats.

Do your own apartment search so your cats can stay. You rely on her to do it all so then don't complain when she does.

AND it sounds like she's giving up the dogs too so its not like you're the only one sacrificing.

Get up off your butt and participate or sit on it and cry like a baby.
