We are doing a project in U.S. History 1.

I need to do it on and event that starts from the years 1600-1820.

I can either:

1) make a script, and perform it in class.
2) Build a replica of a famous building from those years.
3) Draw, paint, sculpt something that has to do with the time period.
4) Make a powerpoint presentation of it.

I want to get it done as quickly as I can, because I want it to be out of the way.

Its due on January 18th.

Help on what to do it on and possible ways of doing it would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

1600 to 1820 is a very broad time frame, and a lot of things happened then.
the first English settlement, in Jamestown, was built.
the Salem Witch Trials in Massachusetts.
The French and Indian War.
The American Revolution.
The signing of the Constitution.
The war with the Native Americans to the west.
The war of 1812.

In my opinion, making a replica of the buildings in that period sounds rather dull, and it can be hard.

Either make a little skit, which would be fun for your classmates to watch, or take the easy way out and do a power point. Keep in mind though, power points can be tiresome because you have to find good images on a computer. Writing a skit is easy because it's whatever you want it to be.

I would advise you to find a small subject. If you did a presentation on the entire revolution, it would be too broad and end up being vague. So focus on one event. You could take a famous part of the war, say the Seige on Boston, and you could act out what happened that caused the English army to lose.
You could take one famous person from the revolution, and give the personal side of him, and what happened after the war was over.
You could look at the campaign in the 1790's to take the Ohio Valley away from the Native Americans. You could look at Arthur St Clair's humiliating loss, and how much it cost the American army.
Or you could do something about American culture. How did Thanksgiving come about. Who were the people on the Mayflower, and what was the agreement they made with King James, and how did that eventually cause the Puritan majority in Massachusetts, which lead to the Salem Witch Trials.
Look at someone like Ben Franklin...he was a famous inventor, he discovered how to harness electricity, he was very respected among all Americans. When he became a revolutionary, how did that shape the way other Americans felt?
There is a lot you can play around with. I say find something that happened, that was either exciting or humorous, something you can take somewhat of an interest in. That way, you won't bore yourself to death trying to work on it, and your presentation will come off more interesting (which means a better grade).

Once you choose your subject, you could have a skit together, or a power point, in just a day or two. That way, your classmates don't fall asleep, and you don't have to worry about your replica getting broken.

I think #3 is quick. you could focus on slavery or the first shot that caused the civil war (maybe write a script abt some young team gun accidentally going off), frankiln kite flying, the white house being burned, I could go on and on

Obviously, history wasn't my strong suit. LOL
