As President Kennedy said, "Attack your work with vigor!" If you approach everything optimistically and eagerly, you will certainly win notice. Treat problems as interesting puzzles to be solved. And very importantly, if people disagree with you, do not take any criticisms as personal attacks, but as useful suggestions to be considered. They may have some valuable ideas to help you improve yourself. Good luck!

Aside from putting on a bright smile, why don't you go that extra mile meaning do some extra things in your every day activties. For example, if you see someone struggling to open a door, why not help them. Or, if you're on a bus, give your seat to someone who may seem a little tired such as the elderly or a young kid. Every little thing you do can have a big impact on someone's life. So make someone's elses day worth living.
