Some colleges dont have minor programs. So there ya go. But since yours does here is a few that I think really make a diffference.
1. Managment.... (employers love some kind of specific training in managment!)
2. Computer Sci... can help augment any degree
3. Buisness... everything today has a buisness part and having that on your degree just shows you have training in that area.
I can't stress Managment enough to you! Human Resourses people just love hearing that you are trained in managment!

In general, requiring students to have a minor is the school's way of encouraging you to have an area to fall back on. In case you can't secure a career in your major, you'll have some decent knowlege with the area you minored in.
And it's also more money for the school...

Honestly, they may help you with your future employer, it is good on your resume, and it is good for you. Yes it may cost you more money but in the long run it will be worth it. Now having two minors, im not sure they will make an employer look at you differently than having just one, but it cant hurt ya either.

You never know what life brings you.
I`ve studied foreign laguages, I`ve been French major - English minor for as long as I can remember, from elementary school until uni graduation. I`ve been working for abou 1 1/2 years now and not ONCE I`ve been required to use French. But English is the basis of my work. So it has helped me somehow... :)

My wife actually is working in the field of her minor. She majored in Psychology and minored in Education. Now as a Vice Principal she is able to use both.

They are probably more attractive to an employer, BUT not necessary. My cousin makes $60,000 a year (she has been out of college for like 4 or 5 years), and she only has a major.
I think employers want to see that you have the necessary degree (ex. Bachelors) and that you have a proactive, and friendly, personality. Also, connections help...

They can be very useful. For example, if you minor in Spanish you have increased your chances of finding a job working with the public.
