I'm eleven hours into FFXII and I really want to know - are Fran and Balthier a couple? Or do they just work together?

There is a reference in a side quest that indicates they are together. A man makes the comment that he needs to thank "that sky pirate and viera" for showing him that a hume and viera can indeed be together. Of course, he just saw them walking together. Balthier refers to her as his partner later though, but again, that could mean several things. That was around 40 hours of gameplay.

I don't know. It would seem so but it never really says. I think they're a couple from the way they act toward each other though.
