I am assuming that you are saying you lost your windows operating system and CD. If so, you can buy a new version at the store, which would cost you about eighty dollars. You could also download it if you want to off of the internet either for a fee or for a cost. Downloading it for free is illegal though.

If the copy was legit, contact Microsoft, they will replace it, they sorta have to. If they give you abuncha garbage, contact who the OEM Computer that made it was, see if it was Factory Installed and shipped with Microsoft that Company takes Responsibility for defects of the product.
Or get Ubuntu and to heck with Mikr0s0xp
