3400 is bored out 3100 same crank same block. i was wondering if anybody knows will 3400 lower intake will match up with 97 3100 car heads

A Montana with the 3.4 is kinda anemic. Imagine how that 3.1 will do! Besides, tuning issues will drive ya crazy. Get the 3.4!

This isn't like swapping out a 327 for a 283 in a 57 Chevy Belair.

There are wire harnesses, the ECU, vacuum hoses, etc. Like the big dodgeman says, find the same engine or have that one rebuilt.

i own a repair shop,and i think by the time you got done with it you,d wish that you had stuck with the 3400 ,they were good engines,so if i were you id try and find a good used 3400 instead of the 3100,good luck i hope this help,s.
