Just curious how many people out there actually puchase gossip magazines. People, Star, Enquirer, US...tell which ones you buy and why. Some of the answers to the above question said that people who buy these magazines are sad and pathetic...and worse. I think that's a little over the top myself. I read People, have been known to read a copy of Start and the others once in a while. I also read Discover, Readers Digest, and more. My reason? I just love reading. I read cereal boxes with my breakfast and I always have more than one thing to read with me. I can tell you, I'm not sad or pathetic. How many more of you out there, that have read gossip mags just because you love to read.....anything.

Call me sad and pathetic I guess because I buy Star, US, People and The National Enquirer every Thursday. But, that's not my whole life, I also read real books. I buy the magazines for thoughtless reading and entertainment. I read them all on Thursday and the rest of the week when I read, I read fiction novels. (horror) Also, if anyone of my friends has trivia questions I usually have the answer.

i imagine that people have continually been enamored by those with celeb status, besides the undeniable fact that that is the figuring out to purchase of the movie tickets and live performance tickets and stadium seats that make the wealthy even richer. What little they could make off a gossip mag (it really is in a good number of cases purely after the popularity sues the mag for defamation of personality and slander) isn't something compared to the 1000's of thousands they get from us because we favor more and more of them.

I usually buy Reader's Digest or Cosmopolitan. I have bought and read the Enquirer a few times. As far as the celebritie's profession goes, I think that bad publicity is better than no publicity.
