Download.com has a good selection of free songs from up-and-coming artists. They're in mp3 format and easy to burn to cd.

Check out blogs such as http://allscissorssmile.blogspot.com and then use a program like iTunes or Windows Media Player and burn them straight to a CDR in audio format. Altogether, this will probably only take 10 minutes once you find something you like ;)
