All I know is I would cringe if my husband ever bought me one! And he does grand romantic gestures all that time, for which I reciprocate in a similar grown up fashion. But his gestures show me he sees me as a WOMAN, not some little girl who needs a security blanket. But maybe that's how some women see themselves, and their attitude solicits those types of gifts. Not I! To each his own, I guess, I'm just always surprised women would want them.

I too am a grown woman and teddy bears would not be my choice of a gift to receive. Maybe it goes back to the old carnival thing of a big strong man impressing the little petite cute girl by winning a teddy bear by throwing balls at bottles, or some similar game, winning a bear and then handing it over to her as a gesture of his manliness and love for her. Who knows? Teddy bears are wonderfully cuddly toys for children. I would prefer something a little more indicative of grown up affection - preferably not something that you have to dust or move off the bed to go to sleep.

There is nothing Romantic about a man that questions romance.
Romance is in the eyes of the beholder.
Do you look into her eyes and wonder if there is a reason for what she feels, or likes.
Or do you look into her eyes and accept what little things she finds enjoyment out of >>>>Teddy Bears<<<<
When you start to question her joy and happiness of all the things that mean something to her in life, even if only in your own mind, then you miss out on all the special qualities that make a woman and you restrict her in your own mind, until day, by day, you start to dump on her, how ridiculous that her needs and wants are.
Same applies to woman who do that to men.
Ridiculing is not romantic.
Give her that silly little Teddy Bear and tell her, you don't understand why she might find a Teddy Bear a nice gift, but you know it makes her happy and that is why you would like her to have it.
That way, she see's your honestly, but, at the same time, you are telling her, you accept her. That is a good way to be in life.
P.S. A really soft teddy bear....maybe white is nice...opps, sorry, over stepping my boundaries here.

Personally I think it would be so neat for a guy to give a "grown woman" a teddy bear. Have you not ever heard of a man being called a Teddy Bear by his spouse/girlfriend? I have!! That bear to me represents him as being her teddy bear. I have had guys give me teddy bears before in the past and I love it when they do that. It is also the thought behind it that counts. Some women out there gripes if a man gives them flowers, candy or what ever, those women should be thankful that they have a man that cares enough about them and thoughtful that he wants to get and give a gift to her. It is coming from the heart. Me, I am thankful that he would give me anything "IF it is coming from the heart and not trying to make up for cheating on me or something like that". So I would except a teddy bear in a heart beat from a man that I really cared about or loved as long as it was coming from his HEART!!! I think it is so romantic.

Wow. The more I think about it, the more I realize that you have a good point. A woman would never give a man a teddy bear as a gift, so perhaps it is inherently insulting for a man to give a grown woman a teddy bear, as though she were a child in need of a stuffed animal for comfort when he is gone.

For the woman - nothing.
For the man - he thinks its what women want.
For now - don't give him a hard time about it and try to look beyond his poor gift idea. Just remember he was thinking of you. But in the meantime, before the holiday sets in, be sure to drop some better hints about what you would really like for a gift.

Teddy bears are very cute and can be very romantic. My husband gives me bears all the time and at times they are in a romantic nature. It's a sweet gesture from a man.

To be honest, we would'nt care if you gave us the stuffing out of a teddy bear, it's the fact that you cared enough to get us something, and you were thinking of us in a cuddly way....the bear represents hugs and feeling like a fluttery young school girl again.....it's the thought, not the actually bear silly.

its not the point that its only a teddy bear. the point is the thought. i kno u heard that before "its the thought that counts". its not necessarily suppose to be romantic but women will appreciate you getting them any kind of gifts.
