Paul Sylar will be revealled soon. You can see him here by his true name Sean Bean.
He is the hero gone bad and power hungry. He is also a little like magneto in that he can shield his whereabouts from other.

I love that show it is so good. It is comic booky without being too dorky.I think at this point it is fairly obvious that Claires father is one of the good guys. I think that it is all leading up to a massive battle between good and evil. With the "good guys" creating more genetic super heros. I think some are born naturally and some are created and they intentionally create married genetic super heros so they will produce children with even great powers. Like Claire and Micah.
Sylar seems to be a super hero turned bad who wants all the powers for himself.

yes Iam a big heroes fan and i think sylar was one of the first super powers and i think they are all the result of an expieriment done on pregnant women and this went wrong and the results were that some were good super powers and some were bad super powers. sylar is short for something like systematic youth life altering robot. As far as him having a human exterior well i cant say much about that. good luck and god bless and happy thanksgiving.

My theory is Sylar is the cheerleaders dad's alter ego - that's how he knows where they all are - he is kind of a "Dr X" but with a darker purpose - he can feel the "gifted" and if he knows he cannot turn them or exploit their power he kills them. Could also be her birth father or an uncle - I get the suspicion he is known to her.

I'm a fan, and I think Sylar is the Hatian (black) dude that hangs out with the cheerleaders' dad. Just a guess though-

I am not sure maybe Sylar is the Indian professor who is supposed to be dead. I can't wait to find out.

two theories
Sylar is the little boy at the end of the last episode. Patient Zero - S, Iyer.
Sylar is Claire's biological father.
Claire's adopted father is going to turnout to be a Good Guy.

I'm thinking he might be, or at the very least have something to do with, Claire's (?? the cheerleader- that was her name, right?) dad. He's got something going on, and he's working with the girl who lived next to the doctor who was killed for his work with the "heroes".
Sorry, I haven't watched enough to pick up all the names, but I'm pretty sure it's him. Or someone who "works" for him.

"Heroes" is dazzling. i won't be able to save up with what's happening a million/2 the time, even though it is so slick that i do no longer care! i admire the way they have those great-powers yet are straightforward human beings on the comparable time, and that even they get puzzled by using their own powers. astounding!

I like it, but have no idea who he is, maybe he is someone we already know, but has a bad side like the blonde chick. I swear I heard save the cheerleader after the show medium, he was freaky
