ok i applied for a job 2 days ago. dropped the resume off with the secretary. She gave me the number for the HR guy hiring. Just wondering whether you think i should call ask him if he had a chance to look at my resume and if he has any questions and whether or not he would like to meet to discuss employment?

I would call and find out if he did receive the resume,but am surprised more information was not given to you by the secretary about applying for this company. Apparently,and just speculation on my part,that must be part of the company's policy for giving out the number to the HR guy in order for you to contact him. I would give it a try and explain to the HR guy that the secretary gave you his number,and you were just "Touching base" and see where it goes. Good luck,if you want the job,hope you get it and it helps to make your life better.

That is a very good idea, it lets them know you are interested and it reminds them to look over your resume (if they havent already)and ask those questions.
When I was hiring people it was a good indication for me, and obviously they had to have the qualifications and personality to go with it. 2-3 days is ok, you dont want to leave it too long where they hire someone else.

You should wait about a week to contact him. Two days isn't long enough. In the meantime, distribute your resume to more employers. Good luck!

I would nothing wrong with that. Sometimes they can be rude though I had one guy tell me that if he wanted to talk to me he would have called me well I got the name of his super and called him and talked to him needless to say that man got fired for being rude to a potential other employee. Inow have his job it is called hr attending. so yes and be carefull. good luck and god bless and happy thanksgiving.
