Stryka, you do have a point, in that sometimes people are just not taking the time to check their spelling before submitting. They just don't have the time. However, what happens is the person has to reread the question several times and probably gets frustrated, so instead of responding with an intelligent answer, they react with fury due to not understanding what was written. For instance, "dis" - some of us know you mean, "this" but sometimes there are questions that continue in this short abbreviated form and it is difficult to know what the "asker" is really asking. Therefore, people respond with negativity or a snide comment that does not answer what the asker would like, which frustrates the person asking the question.

So, please don't take offense. In America, we thought illiteracy was a thing of the past but it seems to have foster a new behavior in the younger generation. For many of us, this is sad, as we had imagined progress on the scene since many reading programs have been put into place - it is a reflection on our education system. It is becoming the same here for people who do not speak English - it is nerve wracking.

Spelling shows how much culture you have. It is just a way to show that you have read some literature and have written some time in your life. Of course, you may not need that for living. Some people is worried about it here, and I do not know why too because this is not the place for good spelling. May be the University would be. We are living the era of Internet, chatting and fast writing and conversations so good spelling is every day more scarce. Do not worry, it seems that you do not make money by writing or reading but try to read and write and your brain will work better I am sure.

sometimes, if you don`t write a word correctly, the reader may understand a completely different thing than what you actually meant.
