The most was 21. What is funny is most of the responses I get to really serious questions are flippant or nasty. I just assume that most people don't want to actually think about things, they just want to denigrate you for having a different point of view, or they want to "spout the party line".
I have not had a question deleted yet, so I have nothing to offer on that problem.

Dragon has one with 150 or so answers. Yahoo got stuck, and Dragon's question was on the first page.
It was some dumb poll about what Yahoo does on their "coffee breaks", and then they went and took one!
Yahoo is crazy, that is why they are deleting your questions.
