Why are men so afraid to shed a few tears?....?

When a man sheds a few tears it is considered to be weak, but as long as it is not for stupid reasons, i happen to think that men who shed a few tears is actually a strength not a sign of weakness, my partner cried when i had my son, and i respected him for it...how many think a man crying is a weakness or a strength?..........

I dont know, it goes into that self conscious factor does'nt it.Imean I cry but it is usually in private.I think if a person does cry it should be for somethin of the highest importance not for anything trivial.

Its a double edged sword. Its a proven fact that men do not express emotion through tears as women do. Men do cry, but we have a different threshold. But, define a stupid reason to yourself.....not all women think the same....one woman may see a mans tears at the birth of a child strenght......another may call him a B*tch for tearing up. Take a look at the pictures of soldiers who have lost friends in battle.....they shed tears, but still there will be those who will say, it's because there are Gays in the Military......Damned if we do, Damned if we don't

I don't think of tears as either strength or weakness. It's honesty to me. My boyfriend has cried on a few occasions. I take it as his trusting me enough to show his real feelings to me. No matter how the world will look at it. He doesn't hide his emotions, he just accepts them. I respect him a lot for it, even though I hate to see him cry.

I think most of it has to do with how they were raised from a child.
Men were supposed to strong and be able to handle anything. A good leader does not show his weakness or doubt because those he leads must not have doubt.
I also believe that in many cases men make decisions easier than woman because men take the emotion out of the equation.
That being said, in many other cases, the woman reminds us of how we must take emotional issue's into account and help us to see the other side of things.

Some of them don't cry so they can not be tease as a cry baby [16 below only] some of the adult can cry without shame because
they are full grown up and thats stronger

It is a strenght because really if a man shows his feelings they are more loyal and trustworhty. They speak whats on their mind. They cry when they want to. I personally think that is awesome!!!
