What does it say about the women who like it? How would you think of a man who had a collection of tonka trucks on his bed with all his throw pillows?

It's the 'little girl' syndrome. Many men like thinking of women as little girls in need of protection from big daddy. It makes them feel stronger and more masculine. Many women in turn like to think of themselves in the same way, as little things in need of protection, the ideal of the perpetual child surrounded by pink, fluffy, cute things while her man defends her from the big bad world.

This is a psychology that goes WAY back to the cave. It's a deep, instinctive dysfunction and not easy to beat. We hope that most women eventually mature enough to not need that protective male blanket in order to feel complete and sufficient, but many don't. That being said, getting a teddy bear ONCE is probably harmless, and it lets the man off the hook from trying to figure out how he's going to afford a $650. handbag instead.

Women giving grown women bears as gifts

One or two teddy bears is great, especially if you are in a long term relationship with someone. I have seen couples in relationships where it makes a room look like a toy factory. I have been in a relationship where it felt like I could have started my own store. Teddy Bears are cute and great at first, but when you get to many, it looses it's romantic sentiment. My husband has given me only 1 teddy bear, and it sits next to our bed, attached to it was a romantic card with instructions or more like clues, that led me to a romantic Valentine's Day dinner with him. That was 7 years ago, and I would be perfectly content if I never got another one from him.

I like teddy bears, but the toy in question would need to have some special meaning behind it.
I have a panda bear from when I was three years old, a bride beanybaby from a lady who ran up and gave it to me while we were getting our wedding pictures taken, and a bride and groom sheep couple we got as a wedding shower gift from a good friend. We took the sheep with us on our honeymoon and took pictures of them in the airport, a nice restaurant, sniffing flowers, like it was their honeymoon. It was fun! And now those sheeps live on top of the bookcase in our living room.

Depends on the woman. Some women like stuffed animals, some even collect them.

Giving a chick a teddy baer is straight but it means the guy didnt know what else to buy

I don't think it's nauseating. I think it's sweet for a man to buy me anything. Guys don't usually know how to shop for a girl so they just buy what they think the girl will like.

hmm i didn't know it was such a problem...women love cuddly squishy things & usually when a woman gets a teddy bear she usually gets candy or flowers with it and if your woman is happy then you will be happy!
