you are right...we cannot change the past...but what we CAN do is change the way we feel about the past (if it is negative) and that my friend, will shape the future :)

The future is a mirage.
Think about it. The closer you get, the farther away it is. Have you heard that commercial about "someday"? I love that commercial because it accurately describes THE FUTURE.
It is as soon as you want it to be. It can be tommorrow or "in a minute" or a millenia away.
So as we creep our way to the future, the future creeps from us unless that future is indeed definable, at which point it is possible to understand.
We chisel away at our futures with each small decision we make. And if we keep on doing what we've always done, we're going to keep on getting what we've always gotten.
So yes you can change the future. I'm doing it now by answering your question. Had I not, you would not understand that you can indeed change the future.
Mind-boggling isn't it?

Where is it written ,in stone or otherwise, that the past can't be changed. The past can be changed. Its just not a real good idea.
You could inadvertantly cause a paradox.
As for changing the future, you just did. The act of asking the question was enough.

The future is changed with every choice you make now. For instance, if you choose to go to College A vs. College B, your friends, lovers, the places you will live, even the major you choose will be impacted by that choice. The future is constantly changing as per the choices you make in the present. All the best to you.

The present is our only point of power. By making choices in the present and acting upon them we create our futures. By not making choices in the present and acting without having made those choices we also create our futures. Do you think this is a paradox? It is not. It is the way our realities operate. There is likely a way to operate upon the past through the present as well though we may not have found it yet.

That's true. You can't change the past, but you can learn from it. The things you do in the here and now can improve the future. What you learn from the past can improve the future. Mistakes have been made in the past, but if you learn from them instead or repeating them you can learn to make the future better.

AAAh, A fine question.
The future will happen as it does sometimes.
I am not up on my philosophy, but I would like to say this; whatever will happen will be based on the free actions of billions of organisms great and small, it is left to these and then some to make the future. I pity myself for I will never know for sure.

Of coarse the future has been written, God knows exactly what will happen and when it will happen too. However, we still make our own decisions and have the will power to make our future what we want it! Don't be discouraged! The past is the past and the future is the future! Ur in control! :]]

The future does not exist, so even God cannot change it; that would be a contradiction like making a square circle. Those responsible for this irrational fantasy are escapist geeks who desperately need a fascinating theory to distract them from their realization that they are failures as human beings

You change the future by changing the future 'present's that will occur; By making choices as to how to react to stimulae, you change your future. If you influence other to make similar choices, you can help to change their futures as well.Since, there is no one reality(Bach, 1987)but rather several billion(each person's reality is different, even if slightly, than the person next to them)there is no ONE Future, but rather billions. You can only hope to influence your's and those of your circle of control/influence.
